HISTORY

Since 2007, Captain Barrington Irving has made history as the youngest person and first black pilot to fly solo around the globe in his single-engine aircraft ‘Inspiration’. Born in Kingston, Jamaica and raised in Miami, Barrington’s journey began with a football scholarship until he met mentor Captain Gary Robinson, sparking his passion for aviation.

In 2005, Barrington founded Experience Aviation (EA) to introduce youth to aviation and STEM careers. Following his global flight in 2007, he inspired students from struggling schools to build an experimental aircraft in just 10 weeks, launching EA’s Build and Soar Program. In 2014, Barrington pioneered the Flying Classroom, an interactive STEM learning adventure spanning 16 expeditions across 13 countries.

Today, he continues to motivate youth worldwide, having conducted over 30 STEM expeditions and impacting countless lives through EA’s programs.
